The Apistogramma cave is a small terracotta cave with a hole on one side. They are designed for spawning Apistogramma species as well as other dwarf cichlids. Kuhli loaches, shrimp, small plecos and more will also find valuable shelter in this cave. 

The cave itself is made out of natural terracotta clay and is safe for all animals. It is designed to hold up well over time. It has a flat top for easy stacking or to fit nicely within rock structures in your aquarium.

favorite cave

i got one of these in addition to two of the pleco caves as i have some smaller super red bristlenose plecos, and i wanted to have some options for them.

its been several months and 3 spawns and the male has chosen the apisto cave as his favorite, he doesn't even look a the other caves.

even tho there is zero room in the cave now for two plecos, they somehow make it work!

Small but mighty!

At first glance I thought there is no way this cave is going to work; it is too small! Nope, I was absolutely mistaken. Do not panic when you unpack the cave, and it appears to be made for ants instead of Apistogramma. Simply follow Master Dean's YouTube guide on how to setup an Apisto tank and you will be good to go. I setup my tank, introduced my pair of Apisto and in less than two weeks, I had fry.
