Vallisneria (also known as "val" or "straight vallisneria") has been a popular choice in the hobby because of its ease of care and long, grass-like appearance. Its hardiness makes it great for goldfish, African cichlid, and community tanks. Vallisneria grows very tall in an aquarium and can drape over the top to make fish and fry feel secure. Once well-established, val spreads quickly by sending out baby plants via runners where you can get a new shoot as soon as every 3 days.

The first one I ordered died in the first week I had it. The one they replaced the first one with is doing great besides doing what vallisneria always does melt and then grow like crazy.
Same as the rest of my order, due to the weather and delayed shipping these did arrive melted, to be expected considering how fine leafed these plants are! After my one photo was taken I trimmed the leaves back a significant amount, and both of them are doing great with regrowth now. I have yet to move them into a permanent spot due to constantly rearranging the tank they’re in, but they’re doing great!!
Received during below zero weather, and plants were safely protected in an insulated pack. Looking great!
I had planned for these to reach the top of my 75 but they never did. I've used the aquarium coop root tabs and the fertilizer, iron, and potassium. They don't grow past 18inches... Shipping was fine but did come with rams horn snails...
I bought this Val in October and it has grown so much and bounced everywhere! I am so impressed!
