Red melon sword is an easy plant with a striking appearance. As per its common name, this plant will produce vibrant red and green foliage. It does well as a background plant in aquascaping and can serve as a centerpiece in smaller aquariums due to its eye-catching appearance. Its big, rounded leaves provide a nice, shady place for fish to take shelter.
We Include Heat Packs and Liners Free of Charge
We have a custom-developed algorithm to include heat packs and insulating plant liners as needed, based on the weather forecast from our warehouse to your shipping address. This helps keep plants at stable temperatures, both in hot and cold weather. Other vendors typically charge you at checkout for a heat pack. We include them when needed free of charge because it's our job to deliver our plants to your door healthy.
Plant Transition
Most aquatic plants are grown out of water at the farms. At our warehouse, we start the plant's transition so they can begin growing underwater leaves for you. As you can see the rounded leaves are grown out of water while the more slender leaves are grown under water. This is a normal process, and it's your choice to cut off the fading, older leaves or leave them.
I love Aquarium Co-Op plants and products. Always had fast service and good quality of plants and chemicals.

Poor quality
Looks nothing like the pictures. Leaves yellowing with white spots , I doubt this plant will make it.

Red Melon Sword
I purchased 2 of these plants. They are thriving and appear hardy. They are compact and rounded in profile. They make nice mid ground plants 🪴

Wouldn't take off for me
I circled the plant in red so that you can see it. I planted this aquarium at the same time, and you can see the two crypt species in front of it really grew well. Not sure if the light output wasn't high enough, or if my photo periods were too short, or if I had too many floating plants.. PH is 7.8, GH and KH are 300+, with most of my hardness coming from calcium. The plants came looking really healthy, but they have really slowly died. Kept them planted because my neocaridina shrimp love to crawl all over them and eat them up.
