  • Unique bronze color
  • Easy to grow
  • Low light

Cryptocoryne Tropica is a form of Cryptocoryne wendtii which features long, crinkled leaves that are bronze to deep green in color. This crypt definitely stands out in an aquariums of any size. Because this is a medium-sized crypt which grows relatively slowly, it serves as a great low maintenance midground plant. It will thrive under low light and send out runners as it grows.

Cryptocoryne Trpica

No luck with this plant. I split it into smaller plants and planted in my sub straight where I have other plants growing. I added root tab at the time of planting to help get them established. These unfortunately did not take and in a few weeks were all gone.

1/3 the size of when it first arrived.

To preface, none of this is being blamed on aquarium co-op. Cryptocoryne aren't the hardiest species in general, so when mine arrived looking almost entirely dead-multiple leaves having already fallen off during shipping- while startling, it wasn't too surprising.

As you can probably guess, what followed after being placed in the tank was melt of pretty much all the bigger/older leaves that had survived shipping over the course of a week. Leaving only four leaves a little over half the size of my pinky nail remaining and still looking a little worse for wear.

With all that being said though, it's already experienced a new growth that looks relatively healthy and while maybe not to this degree, this was all more or less expected. My fish still enjoy trying to lay on it and I don't necessarily regret the purchase. Even if it is odd looking between others photos on arrival and how mine showed up, making me wonder "what happened to you?" haha.

So with all this in mind, I'm not advising anyone against buying this plant. Chances are, Your experience will be better than mine and if I bought another, it'd probably be in better shape than the first. I ultimately don't think anything could've been changed with this particular one as some plants handle shipping better than others, this one was more than likely just a fluke.

Wont by plants from anywhere else

I ordered this one from here and a three pack from somewhere else. (Same plant in basket) This was the only one to not melt. Not only did it not melt, there are several new leaf buds a month later!

Very good plant

I got these delivered to Florida and they kept them safe through the cold front we got, this one and all the others arrived in perfect condition

Very nice Cryptocoryne Tropica

This Crypt came in a nice insulation bag with a warming bag . The Crypt was in nice fresh shape that is doing nicely in my tank.
Happy with plant and the rest of my order.
Great job Aquarium Co-Op.
Will be ordering from them again.

Good so far

I had minimal melt but it’s taking a long time to transition to its submerged growth. I’m hoping in a couple of months it will start taking off.

Never Disappointed!

Ordered an assortment of plants for a new tank setup and as always, I am super pleased with the quality of Aquarium Co-op products. I've purchased plants from other websites, local shops, big box stores, and it was always hit-or-miss with the quality, health of the plant or I would get unwanted pest "hitchhikers" on them.
A few years ago I started purchasing plants here, I'm now setting up a 3rd planted tank filled with Aquarium Co-op plants and have never been disappointed. The plants arrive fast, are packaged with extreme care and are always in phenomenal condition.
I cannot recommend Aquarium Co-op enough for live plants, as well as Easy Green fertilizer and root tabs, and other aquarium needs.

Beautiful Crypt ‘Tropica’

All three pots were received in excellent condition. They have all put out new leaves since I received them. The hammered texture of the leaves is lovely and contrasts well with the C. Wendtii green and brown that I already had in this tank. The new crypts are to the right of the wood in this photo.
