To give you peace of mind, the Aquarium Co-Op air pump utilizes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that automatically switches to battery use if it loses power. It can be run continuously for approximately 20 hours on a single charge and can run in Power Save mode (where the air cycles between 15 seconds on and 15 seconds off to conserve battery) for 40 hours or more. Note: the printed manual has not been updated yet and incorrectly states that the battery runs for 8 and 16 hours.

This is a great, quiet product for your fish tanks. While personally use this product sparingly since I have a larger fish room which requires a larger air pump. However, I have used this product for smaller fry tanks and as an air pump for summer tubs outside (housed inside a waterproof box). I found this product to be quiet and works as expected. I am especially impressed with the battery backup features and Power Save mode (cycles on and off every 15 seconds). These are a great insurance policy in case of a power outage! Highly recommend!
The water in my tank always seemed murky with the filter that came with my Marineland aquarium. I finally decided to upgrade to this brand after stumbling upon a YouTube video. So far so good... bought this to replace the one I bought last year that died already.
I have found the battery backup feature of these air pumps to be crucial for my own sanity, as the power in my area can be temperamental. I am impressed with the power-noise ratio of the unit, and have one running on a 65 gallon aquarium and one on a 180 gallon.
Of the two dual-outlet pumps I have bought so far, one may have gotten slightly damaged in transit, or assembly, as it is considerably louder than the other. The louder unit isn't ghastly to me, albeit I do wish it was as quiet as its counterpart - but this fluke of an issue won't deter me from buying additional dual-outlets in the future. If someone with more sensitive hearing than myself gets one of these rare louder-units, and it bugs them, I recommend reaching out to the great customer service as they will work with you to make it right.
I received and installed the single output air pump today. It is amazingly quiet. Used a 4 way valve to disperse through 3 tanks. Using 3 sponge filters and 1 air stone - 55g, 10g, and 7g. Works well, can’t believe how quiet this machine is. Thanks for a great product!!

This is a really nice air pump and already has a built in battery back up. I read a lot of reviews good and not so good. For me, I think this pump is one of the best ones I've had. Pretty quite.
Very weak air supply to two Aquarium Co-Op medium sponge filters. Very disappointed with this product. Had to be replaced and yet the same anemic performance.. 4 stars for the back-up and 2 stars for the capability. I would not buy again ! I do not believe this to be a quality product from Aquarium Co-Op. As so many of the other products are fantastic.
I came from a Tetra Whisper . This air pump is WAY quieter ( there is only a light hum when the room is quiet and you’re near by) , more adjustable and has batter back up . If you’re in the market for an air pump, this is the one to buy!
