Dwarf chain sword or pygmy chain sword is one of the easiest carpeting plants. It grows to about 4 inches tall and has a grassy appearance. It thrives in medium lighting with lots of nutrients in the substrate and will fill in pretty quickly once it gets established.
I was like ok I want some little grass up front and boy howdy did it make the foreground Pop harder. I’ll buy some more of this in the future. Really like this stuff came in great shape too. Give it root tabs and easy green juice
Dwarf Chain Sword
These came twice as tall as I expected but I and my fish love them. I don't have anything fancy and I'm definitely not a scaper. I just really wanted plants for a more natural look and to help with nitrites and nitrates. I'm also not good with plants. I do need to trim up some of these because some do have yellow tips. Can someone please tell me the best way I should trim off the yellow and brown tips. How far down should I trim them? I do want to keep the height. My large Cory will pluck up any plants so I left these in the pots.
Arrived a day after receiving shipping confirmation and was packed with great care. Bit concerned as the holding bag was showing signs of discoloration and the plant looked like it was melting. Looks a lot better after I got it out of the pot and planted into the tank so will keep fingers crossed that it bounces back well.
My Dwarf Chain Swords came in the mail along with several other plants. They are healthy and thriving. I used Easy Green root tabs in the substrate, and I can see new growth already. Awesome plants Cory!
So far so good with this foreground plant. It is so easy shopping with aquarium co-op and I will be doing it again. It was a great experience and the plants were packaged extremely well.
I bought two of these and planted them around six weeks ago now. Almost all the leaves these plants had when I bought them turned brown. One of the plants finally (about two weeks ago) started sprouting new leaves from the base/roots. The second plant still isn't producing any new leaves and just has a couple of its original leaves left after most of its leaves died. I was expecting better, but these plants aren't awful either. Thankfully one of them seems like it has a chance while I don't have high hopes for the other one.
I received these plants in very poor condition, honestly the worst I've ever received plants and that's including other cross country shipments. Most stems/leaves were broken and roots rotten. I picked off what I could but I expect better out of a company that prides itself on proper care... I feel like I could've gotten better tube plants from Petco (I have). Luckily my tank is very easy to grow plants in and these will recover.
Plants arrived in great condition.
This plant did not work for me in 3 separate tanks, it came looking translucent and melted away. It did not work out, I appreciate the reattempts from aquarium coop but I give up.
