  • Deep green moss with spiky fronds
  • Easily separates into multiple pieces
  • 100% clean with no algae, duckweed, or snails

Taxiphyllum sp. 'Spiky Moss' is like the bigger cousin of Christmas moss because of its spiky, deep green "branches" that extend out in multiple directions. When attached to hardscape, it can transform a normal piece of driftwood into a moss-covered branch lying deep within an unexplored forest. This moss is very undemanding and grows well even in very low light conditions. As with most other mosses, you can easily propagate it by breaking off a clump of moss and relocating it to another area.

Slow going

Originally this plant was placed in my 55gal, but it didn’t do well. It eventually turned brownish and found itself next to the sponge filter. I took it out and put it in my 10gal, algae rich tank, and it is now growing! The plants in my 10gal do much better than the 55gal, and I don’t know why. Fish don’t do well, but snails and plants love it.

problem with not growing fast enough and that on metal not doing anything will co2 be good?

Happy moss clump

Came looking as fresh as in the photo. I opted to plant it in substrate, it is doing great.

'spiky moss' tissue culture

Arrived in vibrant, healthy condition. This is the second time ordering this plant. Couple months ago, used it on some driftwood in 29 gallons tank with great results inspiring me to order some for the 55 gallons tank setup. Had to glue medium size pieces of dragon stone together to form two larger show pieces. The spiky moss was fantastic at hiding where joining pieces looked irregular, aiding to the look of one solid stone. Also used some on cholla wood because it's easy to split into multiple separate plants. Love this plant!

Great little cup of moss

This cup came with a good sized chunk of very healthy moss. I attached it to a piece of driftwood with a rubber band and it’s taken to it well. So far we’re on week 3 and it’s all still super green and healthy. Hoping it will be able to withstand lower temps as it’s in a warm tank that I’m cycling at the moment for my axolotl, but the moment it’s cycled I’ll be dropping temps slowly but steadily down to 64. So 🤞😅

Would buy again.

Thought I'd try it

Really liked the way it adds to my scape. Gives a feeling of grass around my rock scape. Looks great and I'm glad I tried it out.

Awesome moss

Great moss. You get a good amount so you can break it apart and stick multiple places. I super glued it to driftwood and my coconut caves. It is taller than I expected so keep that in mind.

Spiky moss tissue culture

First time trying a tissue culture. Wanted to wait before writing a review. This moss took very well after attaching onto wood. Thriving under low light and occasional easy green. Looks great.
