Cryptocoryne spiralis is a taller crypt plant compared to many other Cryptocoryne species such as C. wendtii or C. lutea. This plant has the ability to get quite large and may need to be trimmed back if used in a small aquarium. As the long, slender leaves develop, they will take on a crinkled texture which stands out beautifully in any aquarium. The color of the leaves on Cryptocoryne spiralis are a bright green but may take on a brownish tint once fully matured.

Love this plant! No matter what I do, I can’t get Val to grow in my tanks. It just melts away to nothing. Crypt Spiralis fills that same niche of long, tall, grass like leaves that delicately eat up vertical room in my son’s tank. It doesn’t grow as fast as Val should, but with some patience it is well worth the wait!
I wanted some taller plants for my tall show tank and these are just perfect.
I usually have no success with this plant but this one works. I highly recommend trying a few. The plant came well packed and delivered promptly.
The plant arrived in a healthy condition despite 3+ days in shipping. A few leaves have melted but it seems to be growing well and is already sprouting new ones!
