The Med Trio

I picked up the Med Trio to use preventatively on my new quarantined fish and I highly recommend everyone keep these in their Aquarium kit! I used the med trio on some newly arrived fish to my tanks. All are doing well. It is too costly to lose new fish, this just makes sense.

I’m completing this review because Aquarium Co-Op has sent me multiple emails asking me to review this product. I’m leaving a neutral rating, because I haven’t actually used the product yet. I just wanted to have them on hand in case any of my fish got sick, so that I could treat them immediately. Fortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to need any medication yet. But I will say that Aquarium Co-Op handled the transaction well, prices were reasonable, shipping was fast, and I appreciated the fish stickers they included at no additional cost. I also appreciate the Aquarium Co-op YouTube channel, which I find to be a wonderful resource for new hobbyists.

On occaision i have had a fish die and/or get sick, and though the water parameters in the tank in question is perfect it could just be from time and truthfully not sure why. On this occaision the fish seemed to deveope 1 one spot but not ich, and so i treated the tank with antibiotics and parasite meds, the one fish died but the rest doing fine. Im not sure why the fish died but could have to do with the school getting down low and it stopped eating and then developed somethng. The meds allow for the survival of the rest and at same time keeping the water good for possible replacement in the future.

Watch Cory’s videos about quarantine using the med trio. If it’s a bacterial issue- use maracyn, exterior parasite or fungal problem- use ich-x, and if you suspect internal parasites- use ParaCleanse.

These basic meds are good to keep on hand for any fish room emergencies. After comparing the costs separately this med trio is also a better value to purchase as a package. I recently had a rainbow become lethargic out of nowhere and I was able to dispatch the medicine quickly and it seemed to have fixed the problem. I don't always dose all new fish unless they show any signs of sickness (of course you must quarantine) but when something comes up these are my go to medicines. Good meds at a good price just order it for the peace of mind.

Ordered this is a panic when a case of parasites in some new fish quickly worsened while being treated with general cure. After starting the paracleanse, the worst looking of the fish almost immediately stopped declining. Still in treatment now but seems to work better than others!

This is nice to have on hand. Even if you don't need it right now at some point you will! Convenient to get here in one place and reasonably priced as well.

I have a heavy planted 36 gallon tank. Two of my Pricilla tetras get some kind of white fungus on their sides. They were too fast and smart to catch and quarantine. Used the med trio in the whole tank got rid of the fungus in two days and all of my other fish and mystery snails are doing great
