This pad is designed to absorb toxic ammonia from the aquarium and as a preventative measure to avoid ammonia spikes. Especially useful after moving an aquarium, doing a large cleaning on a tank, or a power outage has occurred where the the balance of the tank has been disrupted. They can easily be be cut down to the size of your filter for a perfect fit.
Chemical Filtration for Ammonia Removal
Chemical filtration has the ability to remove pollutants and certain chemicals from the water. To prevent toxic levels of ammonia from building up, you can preventatively install an ammonia filter pad to absorb the ammonia and keep your fish safe. Measure ammonia levels with test strips to make sure it stays at 0 ppm.

Whether you have a hang-on-back, canister, or sump filter, this ammonia filter pad can fit them all. Just grab a pair of scissors and cut the sponge into the right shape. When the chemical filtration is used up, simply dispose of the old filter media and cut out a new section from the pad to use.

I bought it nice size for the price I use it in both my tanks and don’t really have ammonia spikes just got in to the hobby didn’t know I was suppose to cycle the tank lmao but with quick start and this stuff I’ve had no problems in at about 3 weeks now and all my fish are doing great
