If you already own an Aquarium Co-Op sponge filter but wish you had greater water circulation, get the Easy Flow Upgrade Kit. By lengthening and curving the uplift tube, water flows out of the sponge filter horizontally across the water surface, increasing the current and oxygenation in the fish tank. No need for an air stone because it also comes with an air collar that creates smaller bubbles for quieter sound and optimized sponge filter performance. It works with the Aquarium Co-Op small, medium, and large sponge filters, as well as our nano sponge filters made after 2023.

I have been using the Easy Flow Upgrade Kit for a little under a year now and am very happy with the flow they provide. The ability to adjust the length of the uplift tubing makes this a great product in my fish room for both my larger (largest 245 gallon) and smaller aquariums (smallest 20 gallon high). I would recommend upgrading your current sponge filters.
I must admit, I was a skeptic of these Easy Flow’s. I needed and ordered a few extra sponge filters and the easy flow now comes with. I skeptically installed one and was very impressed with how quiet they are AND how much water flow you can get from them! I actually made a second order the following week to convert my entire fish room. Now I hear absolutely no bubbling and only the quiet hum of my coop linear piston pump! Now, my challenge to you Aquarium Coop: create a large box filter that accepts the easy flow for polishing the water and while you are at it, make a 180 degree “candy cane” easy flow output tube that we can adapt to our various Hang On Back filters so we can save on electricity.
This is such a great device! No more airstones, adjustable height makes it easy to adjust flow. With this kit, you get the benefits without replacing the sponge filters
This seems to be one of the best choices I’ve made for my tanks, the customization for the different uses weather to just have the new air hose attachment and get rid of having a air stone in the middle of the sponge filter or the directional flow which the fish I have seem to be happier with it. Would recommend giving it a try!
The customizable arrangement for my filters in tanks is so much better than before and the fish I have seem to like the directional flow and this eliminates the old way of having a air-stone in the middle of the filter. Would recommend getting this and trying it out.
Have hard water works great for awhile then clogs up
I am very happy with my sponge filters. It’s not been very long but every great breeder I meet uses them exclusively. They are so much easier.
I actually purchased these Sponge Filter Upgrade Kits to upgrade a bunch of older sponge filters from a competitor brand. They're a little tight, but they do fit! I highly recommend.
I got this for my 55g that I set up to mimic a stream sort of look. As if looking from the center of the stream at one of the banks. So I wanted flow going along in the front. This is working perfect and I love it! The fish seem to love playing in the current too!
