To prevent toxic levels of ammonia from building up, you can preventatively install an ammonia filter pad to absorb the ammonia and keep your fish safe. Measure ammonia levels with test strips to make sure it stays at 0 ppm.
Customizable to Fit Any Filter
Whether you have a hang-on-back, canister, or sump filter, this ammonia filter pad can fit them all. Just grab a pair of scissors and cut the sponge into the right shape. When the chemical filtration is used up, simply dispose of the old filter media and cut out a new section from the pad to use.
It was great, I had a newly established tank that did not fully support the bioload, due to them being newer tanks. These sponges helped buy some time until it was fully cycled!
