  • Tall background plant
  • Great cover for fish
  • Easy to grow

Vallisneria Corkscrew has been a popular choice in the hobby because of its ease of care and long, grass-like appearance. Its hardiness makes it great for goldfish, African cichlid, and community tanks. Vallisneria grows very tall in an aquarium and can drape over the top to make fish and fry feel secure. Once well-established, val spreads quickly by sending out baby plants via runners where you can get a new shoot as soon as every 3 days.

Co-Op always comes through!

From my first order about 7 years ago, and still today, the quality of product and service only continues to impress. My Val and other plants arrived quickly, looking healthy, and experienced minimal melting/dying.

Poor customer Service

4 out of the 5 plants died 5 days after delivery. I’m hopping this corkscrew vail will make it. Sent email still no response from the company.

Amazing!

It doesn't matter which plant you order from Aquarium Co-op, it will arrive fast and in perfect condition. I am have ordered repeatedly from them and have never been disappointed. I can't recommend enough.

My favorite plant from my new favorite retailer

I love the look of this plant, but most of the ones I’ve ordered from other retailers melt back and take forever to grow. My one from Aquarium Co-op arrived a vibrant green and has acclimated to my tank wonderfully! I’ll definitely be buying more!

Watching them grow- again

I thought I'd already written a review, but here goes. It was a while ago, but I think each pot held three or four individual plants, in fair shape.

I love the form of this plant- and I wanted to add them to a tank with Buenos Aires tetras, since the tetras weren't eating the regular vals in their tank.

Unfortunately, something began nibbling them- the tetras or the clown pleco? Two were reduced to just the roots and nubs, but one of those is making a come back. Here's a pic of one of the luckier ones, having been moved to a safer tank. Already there is strong new growth from the center. A beautiful and resilient plant, if your fish will allow it!

Don't order in the Winter

My plants arrived frozen. I tracked them they sat in a UPS warehouse for 3 days before being shipped. Then I got them at the end of the day. Nothing on the box said live plants so UPS left them in cold trucks. The plants have 100% melted. Which was to be expected when they were covered in ice. There was no warming pack which would have ran out. So I was very disappointed I will try again in the spring.

Packaging 10/10

The op never disappoints me and at this point I'm pretty certain they are the best to do it. Multiple items in shipment including the corkscrew Val which was packaged to perfection and looking healthy like they just pulled it out of the holding tank. All of it is Adjusting to my tank easily without melting or issues. Thanks Cory and crew

Got delayed 3 extra days in Midwest Blizzard but... Appears to be recovering

My shipment unfortunately got delayed in that big blizzard that just happened in the Midwest and all the plants arrived super melted and brown. I put them in my aquarium anyway though hoping they'd recover. All of the leaves on the Corkscrew Vallisnaria melted off to 0.5 inches above the crown. A week later, one leaf, maybe, just maybe, might be growing back, it's hard to tell. This one came in the mystery box assortment. I very much hope it can pull through! Aquarium Co-Op made it right and sent me a replacement and luckily that one wasn't held up in a blizzard.
