Ammannia gracilis is a stem plant that requires high light and CO2 to show vibrant red and pink colors. It can also thrive under medium light but may retain a more yellow to green color. In its underwater form, Ammannia gracilis produces thin, elongated, pointed leaves that help provide shelter for fish and fry. As a fast-growing plant, it can reach over 10 inches tall and therefore does well as a background plant.
Lovely Red Ombré Color
The leaves of this gorgeous stem plant turn deep red at the top where they're closest to the light and then gradually change to green as the leaves get further from the light. Just add high light and Easy Green fertilizer to see this amazing color shift.
How We Grow and Store Our Plants
We store all of our plants in aquariums with plenty of light and fertilizer to start converting their leaves. This picture is from our warehouse. Not all vendors store their plants in water; many store them out of water in bags straight from the farms. This is more time without light and doesn't give them a head start in growing underwater leaves.
We Include Heat Packs and Liners Free of Charge
We have a custom-developed algorithm to include heat packs and insulating plant liners as needed, based on the weather forecast from our warehouse to your shipping address. This helps keep plants at stable temperatures, both in hot and cold weather. Other vendors typically charge you at checkout for a heat pack. We include them when needed free of charge because it's our job to deliver our plants to your door healthy.
There is absolutely no corner cutting with aquarium co op. Plants arrived alive with some immersed and some submersed growth. This plant does take time to root and settle but no melting of any leaves 2 weeks after delivery.

Turned out better than expected
I bought this in-store cuz it was on sale and I was getting some other, "easy" plants to start with. I couldn't resist the red color, even though I knew I'd have a hard time keeping it around. Even with my trashy sugar/yeast CO2 system it's a bright red and growing well. Fun to watch and my little critters like the dense undergrowth.

I ordered two Ammannia Gracilis along with two Monte Carlos and one Dwarf Chain Sword. They all arrived in pretty bad shape. I thought that would be reasonable given that they were in transit for almost a week. When I pulled the Gracilis out of the bag it was in, it pretty much fell apart. All the leaves separated from the stems. I decided to plant them anyways hoping that they would make a recovery. The Monte Carlo started to come back in a couple of days and the sword took a little longer but one of the Gracilis just withered away in the tank. The other is just a stem that is barely there. I did some research and ordered a CO2 system to see if I can help these plants recover faster. After a couple of days with the CO2 system in use, the Monte Carlo is now doing fine and the Dwarf Chain Sword looks like it may recover. However, the Ammannia is done. Both Ammannia are dead and not recoverable. I will be asking for a replacement or refund.

Not impressed at all
First of all I’d like to say I haven’t bought plants from here in 4-5 years. I ordered 5 of these and they came in melted and mush, reached out to customer service and they were nice and sent out 5 more. Well the replacements came today and I wasn’t impressed with the quality. They were maybe 1 1/2-2 inches at tops, looked like someone took some clippings and put them together to make the plants. They were wilted and slimy. I was gonna reach out again but I just put them in the garbage. I will never order plants again.

Plant arrived dead.
Plant arrived dead. Completely disintegrated when put in my quarantine tank. There was no possible way to save it. It literally fell apart in a bunch of little pieces.
