The shrimp didn't seem to care about it right away, but after a few days they started to go crazy for it. I think it just needed a little time to start developing biofilm. I plan on ordering more in the future!
I placed The Aquarium Co Op Easy Stump and Snail Shell in my tank and turned around for less than a minute. When I turned back to the tank this is what I saw. I think they will be enjoyed!
I added this to my Neocaridena tank and the shrimp have been eating from the shell. I added this to a tank with some Green Leaf Shrimp from Dan's Fish and they LOVE It!
I purchased these for a couple of tanks that house both shrimp and snails. They have been in the tanks for one week so far. The snails frequently interact with them, and the shrimp engage with them at least once a day. I am pleasantly surprised by how they are holding up. Initially, I thought they would last maybe a couple of weeks, but they still appear almost the same as on day one. I believe they may last a couple of months or more.
I just put one of these in my tank for the first time and my shrimp love it! Several of them were on it right away and it didn’t raise the GH in my 29 gallon tank too much.
I tried these because wonder shell prices are getting too expensive. The shrimp took to them within seconds of me placing the calcium shells in the aquarium. (Don’t mind the screen spot algae I need to scrub)
Nothing left to say, other than my snails and pleco were battling over the shell all day!
These shells appear do everything Wonder Shells does plus they attract snails, shrimp and scuds to them. They are cheaper per ounce than the Wonder Shells and I expect them to be a lot fresher.
They also attract the guppies who are always trying to eat everything and do well with the minerals in the water.
I will say that the Spirulina does leave a green spot on light color sand that may go away over time (only time will tell) or be mixed into the sand.
