Cryptocoryne wendtii is one of the most common plants within the aquarium trade. It quickly became quite popular due to its hardiness, ease of care, and low light requirements. This medium-sized crypt has ruffled, pointed leaves that are bronze to red in color. C. wendtii will reach a height of around 8 inches, making it an excellent midground plant in your aquarium.
I absolutely love the new plants in my aquarium! My crypto and banana plants arrived frozen, no fault of aquarium co-op though. It was packaged well with insulation and heat pack but at -4 and a wind chill of -15 it was bound to happen during delivery. On a good note, both plants are perking up and I’m hopeful they will survive.
My Cryptocoryne wentii (red) arrived in excellent condition in a few days. Unlike my Sagitteria, which was very small and frail, this plant was extremely robust and had an extensive root system - it was almost too extensive, since it had woven into and through the rock wool. After unpacking and cleaning, it planted easily and I added 3 root tabs to help it along to a good start. There was very minimal melting, some stems have grown long and there's a cluster of new growth near the bottom of the plant. It looks like it has acclimated well to my aquarium! The fish loved it from the onset, the tetras especially, hanging about and swimming through the stems. My only concern is that it's not red, even a little bit. I assume that color is a factor of ambient light levels, so I'll wait awhile on that.
Overall I'm very pleased with this specimen! Good job!
Plants came healthy and in a timely manner.
Very satisfied.
Love this plant. Hardly no melting. I put a Root Tab in with it when I planted it. I love all the Crypto's and have great success with them.
Ordered this plant a year ago for a new 10 gallon setup. It looked great when received. The first photo is when it was first planted in January last year. The second photo is from today. Planted in gravel and supplemented with root tabs. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.
Came healthy and looks good and already has 6-7 new shoots coming off it
Packed well and arrived very healthy. This is a beautiful plant and is thriving in my tank! Very happy with this purchase.
Arrived a day after I received shipping confirmation. Wilted condition out of the package, but in better shape than the other plant I ordered. Added a root tab underneath it before planting in the substrate and keeping fingers crossed it recovers well - at least my panda cory fry are happy with the new extra cover. Thank you Cory & team!
I ordered 4 live plants and some non-live tubing and connecters and such. I couldn't believe how quickly the items arrived. The plants were healthy and lush. I'm very happy with my purchases and I highly recommend shopping with Aquarium Co-op
