Amazon swords are one of the oldest-kept plants in the hobby, loved for their ease of care and ability to tolerate a wide range of conditions. They have long, broad leaves with a pointed end that come in bright green to dark green colors. This monster plant can grow 20 inches tall or more, making them a great background plant for larger aquariums or centerpiece for small aquariums. Angelfish are known for using an Amazon sword's large leaves as a surface to lay eggs.
Heavy Root Feeder
Amazon Swords are heavy root feeders and often need to start with 2-3 root tabs at planting. We recommend adding root tabs monthly. As the plant gets larger, you should increase the amount of root tabs given each month.
Plant Transition
Most aquatic plants are grown out of water at the farms. At our warehouse, we start the plant's transition so they can begin growing underwater leaves for you. As you can see, the round leaves are grown out of water while the slender leaves are grown under water. This is a normal process, and it's your choice cut off the fading, older leaves or leave them.
How We Grow and Store Our Plants
We store all of our plants in aquariums with plenty of light and fertilizer to start converting their leaves. This picture is from our warehouse. Not all vendors store their plants in water; many store them out of water in bags straight from the farms. This is more time without light and doesn't give them a head start in growing underwater leaves.
We Include Heat Packs and Liners Free of Charge
We have a custom-developed algorithm to include heat packs and insulating plant liners as needed, based on the weather forecast from our warehouse to your shipping address. This helps keep plants at stable temperatures, both in hot and cold weather. Other vendors typically charge you at checkout for a heat pack. We include them when needed free of charge because it's our job to deliver our plants to your door healthy.

Amazon’s Sword
The Amazon Sword plant that was shipped was almost 6” tall and vibrant. It is slowly converted to submerged growth without melting its other leaves. It will be placed in my 65 gal aquarium at the next water change. It is currently growing in the pot in my 10 gal tank.

Items came quickly, the plants thermo bag seal was broken so it arrived open, but in good shape. I ordered liquid fertilizer not knowing I should have ordered root tabs instead. Didn’t do my due diligence but maybe you can list what type fertilizer is best for plant on website.
